Filmination Co., Ltd., an official sponsor of "JAPAN CUTS Hollywood" will establish the "Filmination Award" this November in Los Angeles
Filmination Co., Ltd. (location:Yokohama and Kanagawa, Japan, CEO Hiroaki Kanamaru) specialized in selling Japanese movies to global VODs (Subscription Video on Demand) has become an official sponsor of the Japan Cuts Hollywood Film Festival, a new film festival in Los Angeles. The "Filmination Award" will be awarded to the most attractive short movie, "The Walking Fish" directed by Thessa Meijer and feature movies "Suitable for You" directed by Shunya Takara.
The "Filmination Award" aims to help filmmakers wishing to enter the world market under the concept of "promoting best Japanese movies & the filmmakers to the world". The award will select a director which has potential to appeal to the global audience. The award-wining films will be announced on the official website of Japan Cuts Hollywood in November. The award will be given before the screening at Japan Cuts Hollywood. The festival brings a program of films, talks, and special guests to the heart of Hollywood with events taking place at TCL Chinese 6 Theaters and JAPAN HOUSE Los Angels (both located at Hollyeood&Highland).
